Xiaomi (Mi): Redmi Note 7 Pro & Redmi Note 7

Xiaomi (Mi India) just introduced the much awaited Redmi Note 7 Pro globally at a launch event in India. Along with Redmi Note 7 Pro, Mi India also introduced the Redmi 7 for the Indian customers. As usual, Xiaomi has been very aggressive with the pricing. After somewhat a sedate 2018, Redmi series is back with a bang, in my opinion. The offering seems attractive at very competitive price. Moreover, the new Redmi series is begin manufactured in India under the “Make in India” campaign. Redmi 7 base variant with 3 GB Ram and 64 GB Storage is introduced at Rs 9,999/- while the premium variant is priced at Rs 11,999/-.

Current, Redmi series comes with impressive hardware specs normally observed in more expensive phones along with highly improved camera performance. Xiaomi has also promised adequate supplies of handsets to meet the demand.

Redmi Note 7

Redmi Note 7 will be available for sale from 6th March,’19 on Flipkart, Mi Portal and Mi Home Stores. Note 7 starts at Rs 9,999/- for the base variant and goes up to Rs 11,999/- for the high end variant.

Redmi Note 7 is powered by the Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset, Oct Core Processor with primary quad Cores clocked @ 2.2 ghz and secondary cores clocked @ 1.8 ghz. The drop notch design display with 6.3 inch screen promises to provide immersive user experience. The front and back of the phone comprises of glass build protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Redmi Note 7 comes with Dual Camera (12 mp primary camera & 2 mp secondary camera) whereas 13 mp shooter is provided on the front. Battery of 4000 mah is expected to last the full working day. Note 7 runs on Android 9 with MiUi 10 interface.

Base variant comes with 3 GB Ram and 32 Internal Storage with the provision to expand the storage up to 256 GB via micro SD slot. Hybrid slot is available to activate either 2 sims or 1 sim (4G Support) and external SD card. The phone weighs 186 gms with full HD IPS display, additional features such as IR Blaster, 3.5 mm audio jack and face unlock feature, etc.

Redmi Note 7 Pro

Redmi Note 7 Pro is a powerful premium midrange device which comes with the latest hardware, Snapdragon 675 chipset powered by Kryo 460 processors clocked up to 2.0 Ghz coupled with 4/6 GB Ram and 64/128 GB Storage. The new Snapdragon 675 processor is claimed to 17% faster than the Snapdragon 710 chipset, built on 11nm process for greater battery efficiency. The highlight of the phone is the mammoth 48 mp rear camera with Sony IMX 586 Sensor & f/1.79 aperture for premium image quality along 5 mp secondary camera. Front Camera is a 13 mp shooter with AI capabilities. Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with 4,000 mah along with fast charging support up to 18W. Build, Design and Features of the phone is similar to Redmi Note 7. The gradient glass back is available in Blue, Black and Red colour.

The base variant is priced at Rs 13,999/- (INR) for the base variant and Rs 16,999/- for the 6GB/128 GB variant. The phone will be available for sale from 13th March,’19 on Flipkart, Mi Home Stores and Mi India portal. The rest of the specifications is identical to Redmi Note 7.

Redmi Note 7 Pro

I’m personally looking forward to the launch of the devices. Xiaomi also announced a new 32 inch Mi Smart TV and Bluetooth headset. The Mi 32 inch TV has been priced @ Rs 12,999/- and Bluetooth Headset @ Rs 1,499/-.
