Xiaomi has finally launched their first Mi TV in India. Over the years, Xiaomi has been bringing in new innovative products to India and Smart TV is the latest to join the list. The Mi TV 4 was announced at the CES 2017 last year and has already been launched in China. The Mi TV 4 will help Xiaomi to set their foot in the electronic appliances segment in the Indian market, enabling them to expand their portfolio and customer base. Mi TV 4 is a compelling option for Individuals looking for a 4K Ultra HD Smart TV at affordable price.

Build and Features of Mi TV 4

Mi TV 4 sports 55 inch frameless display and Xiaomi claims it to be the “world’s thinnest LED TV”. The TV is just 4.9 mm thick making it the slimmest TV model available in the country. Along with 4K display, it also supports the Dolby+ DTS enabled audio technology to provide cinematic view and experience in the comforts of your living room. Seamless transition from Online Content to conventional Set Top Box (STB) experience with one interface and remote is another key feature of Mi TV4 smart TV.

The Mi TV 4 is powered with Amlogic 64 bit quad core A53 processor with clock speed up to 1.8 ghz, along with 2GB Ram and 8 GB eMMC storage. The connectivity options provided on the Mi TV4 includes 3 HDMI and 2 USB slots, along with Dual band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 support. Xiaomi has also used artificial intelligence (AI) on Mi TV 4 with Patchwall UI, running on Android OS. Patchwall UI has been customized specially for India which integrates the Online Content as well as Offline Content (STB) in the same interface. Recommendations based on the users content preference is made available on the platform. Users can easily search results from all content providers.

Xiaomi has partnered with multiple Content partners offering 5,00,000 hours of content for its viewers. It includes partnership with Sony Liv for streaming of Football World Cup 2018. Content from the online stream partners is available on free as well as subscription basis.

The Mi TV 4 has been priced at Rs 39,999/- and will be available for sale on Flipkart, Mi portal and Mi Home Stores. First sale is slated for 22^nd Feb, 2018 on Flipkart and Mi India online portal. Pricing is competitive in my opinion, as it promises immersive entertainment experience.
