One Plus is one of the many Chinese companies to have ventured into India recently. They are soon going to launch their flagship device One Plus One in India which does look very impressive in terms of specifications and has got a very good response in the regions where it has already been launched. This device not only comes with impressive specifications but is backed by pretty good pricing as well. The device comes with features available in some of the top end phones although price is expected to be around Rs 22,000/- for the 64 Gb variant making it a very affordable phone for buyers. We can expect One Plus One to be launched in India anytime soon.
In US it is sold for $ 299/- ( 16gb Variant)

Build

The first thing about the phone which will draw your attention to the device is the build on this phone. The phone has a velvet kind of finish at the back and the bezels are slightly thick. Being a phablet kind of device single hand use may not be possible on this phone. The soft back cover and ergonomic design does make it very comfortable to hold and use. It is primarily made up of plastic and the rear can be removed and changed if you wish too.
In front on the top you have the LED notification light, sensors and front facing camera.
It has 3 capacitive buttons at the bottom which can be turned off in favour of on screen keys. The rear camera is slightly raised encased in metal.
Despite the build using plastic it does look elegantly designed with solid form factor.

Display

It sports a full HD display like most of the other flagship devices. The color reproduction is good and the display does look crisp and vibrant. The viewing angles are also excellent on the phone. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the top which makes it a scratch resistant phone unless you stay close to sea and the phone comes in contact with sand.
The Auto Brightness sensor on the phone also performs well and viewing in sun light is not much of a problem.
It has the USB OTG port at the bottom.

Hardware

One Plus One comes with an very impressive hardware specification. It has a 2.5 ghz Quad Core Krait 400 processor on Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset. It gets further beefed up by m 3 gb Ram and GPU used is Adreno 330 clocked at 578 mhz.
If the device performs as per the specifications one would have a very smooth experience using it. One can easily say this is a future proof phone without lags and it is one of the most fluid devices around. Gamers would also be able to able the most graphics intensive game at the highest possible setting on this device.
It comes in two variant in terms of Storage. It has the 16 gb and the 64 gb variant but does not have the Micro SD card storage expansion slot. However, in my opinion if you are not a heavy gamer than 16 gb variant is sufficient for the most.

Software

It runs the latest Android Kitkat 4.4.4 out of the box and is assured to get the Android L update pretty soon. It runs a much hyped custom UI on top namely, CyanogenMod 11s which is claimed to be a very efficient and promises to offer a lot of features for the end users.
It is well optimized and manages the Ram efficiently ensuring that you get a lag free fluid experience on the phone. Gaming experience is also very good on the device as per the reports coming out of other countries where it has been officially launched.

Network and Reception
Network reception and Call quality is decent on the phone but it remains to be seen how it performs in India.

Battery Life

One of the USP of the phone is the battery life one gets on this device. According to the reports emerging this device can give 1 and a half days to 2 days of usage even with heavy use. The phone hardly drains during the idle time which makes it one of the most battery efficient phones.

Camera

Camera performance is decent as for the price at which it is being released but if you compare it with other flagship devices you may find the pictures to be slightly soft to your liking. But by no means are the picture quality bad or grainy, the camera does manage to take decent pictures and will be able to outshine most of the phones in its price range.
The rear camera is also able to shoot 4 k videos while the front camera can record videos upto 1080p.
The front camera is pretty good as well you can click some good selfies and video call is also possible on this device.
Overall Impression

The specifications do look impressive and phone does seem to be a future proof phone as One Plus is known to roll out update for its device as well. The pricing of the phone does make it a very attractive buy and you are undoubtedly getting a high end device at a mid range price.
However the only concern for me as of now is the after Sales Service offered by the phone and it will be an important factor which the company will have to address if it wants to establish itself in India.
