It has been an incredible year for the budget and midrange smartphones. We witnessed quite a number of launches from quite a few brands in this segment out which Redmi Prime 3S has proven to be an incredible device along with its elder sibling the Redmi Note 3. While Xiaomi has ruled this segment others such as LeEco and Motorola and Lenovo have also done reasonably well. Lenovo as brand has really made a mark in the smartphone industry and of late have been manufacturing value for money devices. Thus it is no surprise that they have come with a new device in the budget segment which will compete with Redmi Prime 3S.
Lenovo K6 Power was announced by brand couple of weeks back and it will on sale on 13thDecember,’16 exclusively on Flipkart. The phone on the specs sheet looks impressive and seems to be a potent competitor for Redmi Prime 3S although it has been priced slightly higher at Rs 9,999/-.

Build and Display: K6 Power comes with decent build and compact form factor. It sports the unibody metal back design with fingerprint scanner placed at the back just below the camera. The ergonomics on this phone is good and seems comfortable to use. The device weighs around 145gms which again is fair for a device with a large battery. Overall, the build and design of the phone is pretty impressive given the fact that it is a Budget end phone. The screen does not have the Gorilla Glass protection.
The capacitive keys are placed below the screen. However, the keys are not backlit.
Lenovo has done a commendable job when it comes to display as K6 comes with full HD display which is normally not found on Budget Phones. The display seems crisp with true color reproduction and good viewing angles.

Hardware Specifications: Phone is powered by the Snapdragon 430 chipset which is a budget end chip from Qualcomm. The Octa Core Arm Cortex A53 processor is clocked at 1.4 ghz which is adequately powerful to provide lag free experience on this device.
K6 comes with 3GB of which along with Adreno 505 GPU will ensure that one will have a smooth gaming and multitasking experience on this device.
Internal Storage provided on this phone is of 32GB which is sufficient for most of the users but in case one requires more storage the hybrid slot may be used for SD card.
It has a single color led light in the front for notifications.

Battery Life:One of the key features on the new budget end phones is the battery life and this device is no different. The device comes with massive 4000 mah battery which will easily last for more than a day even under heavy use.
However, the phone does not support Fast Charging and it may take upto 3 hours to fully charge the phone.

Software and Features: Lenovo uses their custom interface called the Pure UI over the Android OS which is similar to stock android with some customization. It comes with Android Marshmallow and it remains to be seen if Lenovo rolls out the Nougat update for the device in the future, if at all.
The Ram management on the device seems to be good and the GPU is powerful to run even the most graphic intensive games on it.
Lenovo has provided all the sensors on this device along with the fingerprint scanner. The only notable feature missing is the IR Blaster. But then even many of the flagship devices have omitted it hence cannot blame Lenovo for not providing it.
The Dolby Atmos provides great sound via speakers which is bound to enrich the multimedia experience on this device.
It also supports the VR mode so one may use the VR headset with this device for enriched entertainment experience.

Camera: The camera provided on this phone is also pretty good for budget end device. The rear cam takes decent quality images under daylight with fair amount of detail while under artificial lightings the images do tend to appear a bit soft. The front cam performance is also satisfactory and is capable of taking reasonable images.
Overall, it has a good camera for the price.

Network:The phone comes with dual sim support, with second sim slot being a hybrid slot which may be used for additional storage via SD Card. The device supports 4G Volte too.

Overall Verdict: Lenovo has done a great job with this device and has priced it really aggressively. The phone is an ideal competitor to the likes of Redmi Prime 3S and Redmi Note 3 and does surge slightly ahead in terms of Camera, VR Support and Display but does miss out on the IR Blaster. Overall, it is a value for money device with very little to chose between it and its close competitors.
