Budget Bluetooth Speaker: Mi Bluetooth Mini Review

Xiaomi (Mi) apart from Smartphones, also brings in some of the accessories and Digital products into the Indian market. Recently, I had the opportunity of try out one such product. I got the Mi Bluetooth Speaker Mini while I was looking for a compact wireless speaker to be paired with my laptop and smartphone.

About the Device

Mi Bluetooth Speaker Mini is priced at Rs 1,299/- but one may get it for less during the Sale season. The product is available on the Mi India portal and Mi has really improved the logistic support as I received the product in real quick time. The Speaker is very basic and compact which may be easily synced with Laptops and Smartphones via Bluetooth.

The highlighting aspect of this Speaker is the compact form factor and premium metal build along with decent sound quality. The Speaker is  portable and extremely light as it weighs just 58 grams.  It also comes with built-in microphone for taking calls. The battery life is also pretty decent on this device as it easily lasts for 3.5 hours to 4.5 hours on single charge. The connectivity range is 5 meters which is acceptable.

The product is available in 2 color variant, Grey and Gold. Mi Mini may be charged using the micro USB charger. Although to keep the cost down the charger is not provided in the box.

The sound from the speaker is adequately loud for a single room but do not expect high quality performance from a Budget device. It does lack a bit on the bass but at this price one cannot complain much.

I have used this speaker for listening to music and even while watching Youtube videos. The performance is pretty good in my opinion.

Verdict

I’m pretty impressed with this device for the Build and the Price it is available. Mi has done a great job by pricing the device so aggressively. I would recommend this device to anyone looking for a compact budget end Bluetooth speakers for normal use.
