We have seen few Smartphone manufacturers have launched their budget Android 4G devices in the market in the last few months. These phones are backed by impressive hardware specs and very affordable prices. Although you won’t find much difference between them in terms of specs and prices but still there are some points of differentiation. In this post I will speak about the pros and cons of each of these devices in my opinion which will help you to make your choice.

XIAOMI REDMI NOTE 4G

Xiaomi has come up with fabulous Redmi Note 4G which is backed by good hardware configuration and reasonable price. Performance wise also the phone is pretty good and is able to handle most of the task with ease.

Pros with Redmi Note 4G are:-
  • Good Battery Life under Heavy use.
  • Xiaomi after Sales Service is better than that of other two Brands.
  • Xiaomi is relatively fast in terms of providing updates as compared to the other two brands.
  • Redmi Note is well optimized with respect to the Hardware Specs and hence performs better.

Cons with the Redmi Note 4G are:-
  • It uses the 32 bit architect chipset while the other two are using 64 bit chipset which more ideal for Android Lollipop.
  • It uses a supports a Single SIM while other two are dual SIM phones.
  • Build quality is average.

MICROMAX YU YUREKA

YU Yureka is a rebranded (Coolpad F2) phone launched by Micromax is 4G enabled. It comes with spectacular specifications and incredible price.

Pros with YU Yureka are:-
  • It has an Internal Storage of 16GB which very good for a Budget end phone.
  • It is powered by 64 Bit (Snapdragon 615) chipset which is considered to perform better with the latest Android OS.
  • YU Yureka runs the CyanogenMod UI which is a very fluid UI and provides a lag free experience backed by a lot of user friendly features.

Cons with the YU Yureka are:-
  • The Snapdragon 615 chipset powered by Octa core processor does heat up quite a bit under heavy use making it difficult to use.
  • After Sales Service of Micromax remains a concern for most of the users till date so one has to be careful about it.
  • Battery Life on the phone is average and heavy users might have to charge it twice to last a full day.

LENOVO A6000

Lenovo A6000 is the cheapest Android 4G smartphone in the market as of now. It is also comes with decent hardware specs and affordable price.

Pros with Lenovo A6000:-
  • It is also based on 64 bit chipset (Snapdragon 410) but does not have any serious heating issue as we have seen the same chipset being used in Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime as well.
  • Audio Quality on the device is very good as Dual Dolby speakers provide Stereo Sound which will enhance your music experience.
  • Cheapest among the 3 Android 4G phones compared in this post.

Cons with Lenovo A6000:-
  • Build quality is pretty mediocre.
  • Has got only 1GB of Ram which may slow down the phone after few months of use and installation of a lot of apps.
  • Average Battery Life.
  • Customer Service remains a concern and Lenovo does take time in rolling out updates.

 Overall Verdict

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, Micromax YU Yureka and Lenovo A6000 are really very good devices at very affordable prices and it is really tough to differentiate between them. But I would still give Redmi Note 4G an edge over the others as Xiaomi has better after Sales Service and do provide faster OTA updates for their devices as compared to others. Also in day to day usage Redmi Note seems to be a well optimized device as compared to the other two.
Micromax YU Yureka has 64 bit processor and is expected to run Android Lollipop well but again has got heating issues while multitasking. The build and feel looks slightly better on Yu Yureka as compared to others.

Lenovo A6000 is also a fabulous and cheaper than the other two devices but 1GB Ram may just not be enough for smooth functioning of the device in the long run.
