Budget Friendly Premium Smartphones in 2019
Ultra Budget Phones

Redmi 7A is currently retailing from Rs 5,299/- and with credit card discount will be available at even lower price. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 439 chipset which is decent at this price. Given the hardware specifications it won’t be able to support high end games or capture high quality images, but will suffice for normal usage. Redmi 7A is expected to perform well with moderate tasks. However, the base variant comes with 16GB storage so Individuals interested in buying this phone should look at 32 GB variant which is priced marginally higher.

Realme C2 is currently retailing at Rs 6,999/- for the base variant (2 GB Ram/32 GB Storage) and comes with refreshing design and decent hardware specifications at this price point. However, prepaid discount will bring the price below Rs 6,000/-. Individuals looking for android phone in very tight budget may consider Realme C2. The phone comes with decent build and performance is satisfactory for the price. The phone is powered by Mediatek P22 chipset which is a budget friendly chip and offers optimal performance for the price.

These phones are good for 1st time buyers or Individuals with limited usage of the phone. In terms of battery and display both the phones are again very close to each other.

Redmi Note 8 comes from an established brand in the budget segment at a very affordable price. Phone is similar to Realme 5 but has an additional sensor in form of IR Blaster which the Realme 5 lacks. Redmi Note 8 is also powered by the Snapdragon 665 chipset and has quad rear camera setup. However, the MiUi interface is known to push ads on the platform which is annoying for many. Phone also comes with 18 watts fast charging support.

Budget Friendly Smartphones in 2019

Vivo Z1x is a surprise which I myself did not expect will make my list. But Vivo is trying to bring competitive phones in the midrange price segment. Vivo Z series phones are impressive devices which come at attractive price point. The latest offering Vivo Z1x is an impressive device which comes with triple camera setup and powerful hardware specifications. The AMOLED display, good camera and 6 GB Ram (base variant) provides for enjoyable end user experience. The phone is priced at Rs 16,990/- but is available on Rs 2,000/- discount on pre-paid card payment. However, the absence of expandable storage and lack of splash resistance coating are two of the noticeable cons in my opinion. But looking beyond it, this is a great device for the price. The phone also comes with 4500 mah battery which provides good backup and 22.5 watts fast charging quickly power ups the phone.

Redmi Note 8 Pro
Redmi Note 8 Pro

Redmi Note 8 Pro and Realme 5 Pro are also great choices in this price range. However, since none of these devices come with AMOLED display or in-display fingerprint scanner, I have not included them on top of the list. But ignoring those two minor knit pickings, I believe these are great phones too for the price. Especially Redmi Note 8 Pro which offers great specs and powerful hardware for gamers. If someone is looking for performance oriented phone they should consider Redmi Note 8 Pro which uses the extremely powerful Mediatek G90T chipset. Redmi Note 8 Pro starts at Rs 14,990/- while Realme 5 Pro is available for Rs 13,999/- for the base variant. Both the phones sport the 64 megapixel rear camera along with ultra wide lens, depth sensor and macro lens. Both phones support fast charging as well.

Top Smartphones on Sale

Asus 6Z is one more device which drew my attention this year. The phone is priced aggressively for the specifications offered. The main highlighting point is the camera which doubles up as the front and rear shooter. The flagship hardware, flip camera module, near stock android experience, affordable pricing makes it a worthy choice. Currently, it is retailing at Rs 27,999/- but with discounts one can expect the price to go down further by Rs 2,000/-. However, the phone does not offer any water resistant protection and also lacks the AMOLED panel.

These are my picks as Best Value for Money Android Smartphones.
