Saturday, April 11th, 2015 Amritesh no responses

LG recently launched their new Midrange smartphone for the Indian market and also in some other countries. The launch of the device was announced at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress (MWC). In the past I have observed that although LG do manufacture decent devices but they generally don’t sell that well in India compared to some of the other brands. The device is available on online e-tail stores for around Rs 13,400/- ($ 220 approx). The best thing about the phone is that it comes with latest Android Lollipop pre installed on the phone. At the moment there are hardly any phones in the midrange segment which come with Android Lollipop pre installed. The phone was launched few days back…

Moto E2 (3G) Budget Smartphone: My Views

Thursday, March 19th, 2015 Amritesh one response

Motorola recently launched their Budget end device MotoE2 (3G) in India. The phone has been priced at Rs 6,999/- ($115) and is available online exclusively through Flipkart. I will not compare it with any of the devices that are available in the same price band right now as most of them are 4G compatible and are manufactured by Chinese manufacturers or Indian resellers selling rebranded phones. The specifications on this phone are pretty mediocre but still it comes from a reputed brand and I will mention the reasons to buy or avoid this phone.Reasons to buy this device:-Latest Android OS: This phone comes with Android Lollipop pre installed and is the only budget phone at this point of time running the…

Samsung Galaxy S4: Looks Impressive With New Price

Thursday, February 26th, 2015 Amritesh no responses

Samsung recently slashed the price for their 2013 flagship device. It is now available on e-retail stores at Rs 17,999/- ($ 290) approx. The phone does look as an interesting buy at this price. But as far as Samsung’s marketing strategy is concerned it seems pretty weird in my opinion. On one hand they are slashing down the prices of some their premium predecessor devices while launching new devices powered by low specs but with premium price tag. If one decks up the newly launched Samsung phones against Galaxy S4 you can’t help feeling that this older generation phone will come out as a winner. It can also be that Samsung is trying to expand its market reach by lowering the…

Samsung Galaxy A3 (Metallic Body): My Views

      Saturday, February 21st, 2015 Amritesh 5 responses

Samsung launched their Galaxy A Series Smartphones few weeks back which in my opinion boasts of mediocre specifications but comes with premium price tag. These phones have metallic unibody design which is a welcome change from the stables of Samsung. The Galaxy A3 phone has been launched with a price tag of around Rs 20,000/- ($ 320) approx. The phone does look as a major improvement over the previous generation of Samsung phones in terms of build and design but apart from the metal unibody design, the hardware specs are pretty modest for the price. The device is pretty thin at 6.9mm and weighs just 110 gms.It does sport the latest Snapdragon 410 chipset and GPU is also the latest Adreno…

Xiaomi has finally decided to launch their new Flagship device in India, i.e Mi4. The device will be up for Flashsale on 10thFeb,2015 and registration is already open exclusively on Flipkart Portal. Xiaomi Mi4 has been priced at Rs 19,999/- ($ 330 approx) for the 16Gb variant which looks reasonable for the specs on offer. The device was launched in China few months back and does seem to be a great value for money device as the performance thus far has been great and minor bugs with MiUi 6 has also been fixed. Performance and Hardware specs along with price do not provide much scope to complain. Many in India are displeased about the price being a tad too high as…

Samsung S3 Neo: Old Device But New Price

Thursday, January 29th, 2015 Amritesh no responses

Samsung recently slashed the price of Galaxy S3 Neo. The specifications on this phone really make it an attractive buy at this new price. I won’t do a full review of this device as it is a pretty old device by Smartphone Industry standards. It was launched early last year but with a very high price tag of around Rs 25,000/- ($ 400 approx) at that point of time. I strongly feel the present price of Rs12,499 ($ 200 approx) available on Flipkart is pretty much acceptable in present market and specifications on this phone justify the new price. Now let’s look at the reasons to buy this phone:-Samsung Branding: For brand conscious people one of the most important reasons to…
